Sir Nigel Archibald Thornberry, KBE (born April 19, 1951) is the host of Nigel Thornberry's Wild World.
Looks
Nigel Thornberry is a pale man with a large hooked nose, bright red hair, and a mustache. His defining features include an overbite. He typically wears a khaki safari outfit, complete with a button-up shirt, green cargo shorts, and hiking boots.
Personality
Nigel has devoted his entire life to studying all kinds of wild animals and their habitats. His dry wit and hearty laugh are almost as noticeable as his bright red hair and bushy mustache. Besides narrating the show, he is an experienced pilot and wood grower and has often risked life and limb to save his wife and daughters from extremely perilous situations they find themselves in on their travels. He considered taking a professorship at Oxford in order to allow his daughters to have "normal" lives and to have human friends (in Eliza's case), but even this honor won't quench the need for adventure in his blood as he continues his journeys to the far corners of the globe in search of one elusive species after another. He's also slow to anger as he rarely gets angry.

Nigel appears in every episode of The Wild Thornberrys. His first appearance was in "Pilot". His last appearance was in "Eliza Unplugged". Nigel has a supporting role in The Wild Thornberrys Movie, he had a bigger role in Rugrats Go Wild!.
He also appeared on a few video games, including crossovers. Such as Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 1 and 2, The Wild Thornberrys Animal Adventure, The Wild Thornberrys Animal Adventure, and Wild Thornberrys: Chimp Chase.

- Nigel has his name in two episode titles which are Nigel Knows Best and Sir Nigel.
- He's shown to not be a very good driver due to getting distracted easily, which is why Marianne usually drives the ComVee.
